“I was first introduced to pharmacognosy (plant medicine) in my late teens, and became a lifelong devotee of natural medicine and organic gardening. After training as a massage therapist in the 1970s I began studying herbs and essential oils in earnest in the early 1980s with the National Institute of Medical Herbalists and became a founding member of the International Federation of Aromatherapists in 1985. Alongside creating therapeutic formulations, I’ve lectured widely and been involved in teaching and the introduction of natural therapies to hospital and hospice environments. The basic formulation for Essential Care’s Repair Lotion has its origin in those early days for the relief of our family’s eczema and allergy-prone skin. I still create these unique formulations exclusively for Essential Care.”
