The term ‘organic’ can be used on products that contain literally a whiff of organic essential oil which leaves a massive loophole open to exploitation. At the very beginning of 2011 I remember sitting down with Margaret (and Mum) and carving out a plan to launch our makeup in time for our major trade event (Organic & Natural Products Europe in London) in April. It had already been two years and many trials and tribulations in the making, and such a short deadline was a big ‘ask’. We knew the stars really had to align if the certification, design and raw materials deliveries would all come together in time. In a way they had to; I was due to give birth...
